Mica’s been getting after me to post some stuff that’s been sitting on our drafting table for the past month and now that she’s at work and I’m at home (got the day off dummies! woop woop) I thought I would revel in my short-lived free-time winning-streak. hyphen-hyphen. anyway, here are a few things that I would like to share with you:
First off, a letter, front and back, from a couple dear friends.
and my response.
and a painted version of a spread I posted up ages and ages ago.
Well I have to interrupt the art parade here for some gratuitous pondering that will be of little interest to just about everybody so feel free to skip to the next image if you wish, or read on. if you dare. Now that I have a real portfolio I’ve been unsure as to how I should handle my blog. This little gem of network real estate has always been my only baby. and now I have a shinier prettier dependent that I actually pay to hold it’s place. It’s like having one kid in public school and one in private day care. long story short, should I still post finished pieces up here that I also want to put on the portfolio site? hmm decisions. One solution to this issue that Mica came up with is to tone down the rampant professionalism that I tend to employ here. I know my formality and lack of frivolity has been my most alluring quality to you, dear readers, but prepare your high-brow little brains, ’cause buddy, things are about to get casual. About now y’all are wondering, “well, colin, what does this mean for us? can we still expect semi-regular ramblings and scribbles of friendly bears and letters you write to random people you don’t know? What about the comma splices!?!?” well of course! all this really means is I’m going to start trying to take more process shots and post more sketchbook pages. see I told you this wouldn’t be interesting. how about a sketchbook page and a colerase sketch of something coming soon?
